Obituary

CORNISH- – Edward “Ed” Francis Casazza Sr. age 86, passed away peacefully on February 3rd
He was born in Haverhill Massachusetts, May 13 1931, a son of the late Frank and Edith (Shugrue) Casazza. He was a graduate of the Haverhill Trade School where he studied furniture refinishing and upholstering. He proudly served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. In the early 60’s he became an Antique Dealer and was known for the Auctions he and his partner Frank Green held in Merrimac Square. He later moved to Maine where he met and married the love of his life Elaine Ward. Over their 47 years together they built a successful Auction company as well as other business ventures including an apple orchard, video store and Antique Shop. In 1998 they became successful sellers on Ebay and continued their antique business until she passed on December 22, 2016.
Ed is survived by his children Anne Hurst and husband James of Gardner MA, Brian Casazza of Steep Falls ME. and Kevin Casazza of Waterboro ME. Six grandchildren, Katie Richardson and husband Joe, Daniel Hurst, Nathan Casazza, Kimberly Henderson and her husband Jason, Amanda Benoit and Ethan Casazza. Two great grandchildren, Johnathan Michael Henderson and Wyatt Casazza. Brothers Anthony Casazza of Merrimac MA and Frank Casazza Jr. of Laconia NH. He was predeceased by his son Edward Casazza Jr. and his two sisters Rose Whitham, and Kathleen Smith.
A service at the South Limington Free Baptist Church will be held in the spring. Arrangements are by Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 US Rt. 1, Scarborough Maine 04074
