Geraldine “Gerry” D. Cleary, 82, of Manchester, NH, died Friday, February 2, 2018, in Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH. She was born in Nampa, ID on June 2, 1935, a daughter of Joseph and Bertha (Helt) Udovick. She had been a resident of Manchester since 2003, formerly living in Hayward, CA. While in CA, she was an Administrative Assistant for Hayward Unified School district as well as a hostess for Lyons restaurants. After retirement, she moved to Manchester, NH to be closer to her son. Here she worked many years for Callogix in Manchester.
She was an active member of British Cars of New Hampshire. One of her favorite past times was riding around in her 1959 cream colored MGA, with her son driving her through the countryside finding ice cream shops. She also enjoyed spending time with her son, as well as taking walks and reading mysteries.
She was a loving mother, a true friend to all and had a caring and gentle nature. But above all, she will be remembered for her smile that would light up the world and make it a brighter place.
She is survived by her son, Wade M. dos Santos and his wife Linda, as well as three nieces, Linda Deane and her husband Nelson, Carol Diane Silva and Cheryl Burns and her husband Chris; and one nephew, Jim Prendergast.
Following cremation, a celebration of Gerry’s life was held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the First Parish Church in Derry, NH. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice House, Attn. Development Dept., Home Health and Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Dr., Merrimack, NH 03054. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry assisted the family with arrangements.
