Ricky Darrel Burdette, 61, of Ty Ty passed away Friday, February 2, 2018, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2018, at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Ring officiating. Mr. Burdette will be laid to rest at Salem Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 4, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Salem Baptist Church.
Travis Lassiter, Wesley Lassiter, Jeremy Gray, Howard Gray Jr., Ray Wilson and Kason Gray will serve as pallbearers.
Born December 28, 1956 in Tift County, Mr. Burdette was the son of the late Henry Burdette and Emogene Wilson Burdette. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Craig Wade Burdette; his uncles, C. A. Burdette Jr., Elmer Burdette, Oren Burdette, Grady Burdette and Donald Wilson; and his aunts, Emma Lou Burdette, Velma Burdette, Esther Engebretsen, Doris Casey, Leona Ireland and Laverne Willis. He was a farmer and a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Mr. Burdette is survived by his wife, Jan Davis Burdette of Ty Ty; and his aunts and uncles, Hortense Burdett of Sycamore, Cleo and Eldridge Beasley of Ty Ty, Mary Williams and Carolyn Bates, both of Moultrie and Jennifer Wilson, Virginia Beasley and Elizabeth Wilson, all of Tifton.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to the Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, 1128 Salem Church Road, Tifton, GA 31793.
