Obituary


Evans, GA – Rhetta Suzanne Cadle, 84, loving wife of the late James Wesley “Jim” Cadle, Sr., entered into rest on Thursday, February 1, 2018.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Church of the Good Shepherd with Rev. Lynn Prather and Deacon Bunny Williams officiating. A reception will immediately follow.

Rhetta spent her early life caring for her children and book keeping for the family business at Cadle’s Shell and Sock service stations. She used artistic talents to paint still life and beautiful landscapes. She passed the artistic talents down through the family to children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Evans Home Demonstration Club and fundraised for their endeavors. She and her husband Jim were owners of Twin Pigs Barbecue in Martinez before retiring. She had the harrowing experience of surviving the Marshall Square fire and being rescued after seven arduous and horrific hours. She held on for her family and gave them a few more years of precious memories and time together.

Survivors include son Wesley Cadle and his husband Ransom Snellings; daughter, Suzanne Cadle Strehle and her husband Tom Strehle; brother, Rob Lane and his wife Pat Lane; son-in-law, Tim Wilson. She is also survived by grandchildren, April Parish, Bill Goodwin, Trey Flake, Erica Price; eight great grandchildren, Sydney, Maya, Rosalia, Vivian, Sylvia, Jessica, Brittany, Kai, Ethan; and great great grandchildren, Dakota and Grayson. In addition to her husband, Rhetta was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn Cadle Wilson, and brother, Roy Lane.
