SCARBOROUGH- Betty D. Lord, age 84, of Beech Ridge Road, passed away at her home, surrounded by her beloved family on Jan. 30, 2018.
She was born in Springvale on Sept. 16, 1933, a daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Maye) Dyer.
Betty was a longtime member of the Scarborough Free Baptist Church where she also served as a leader for the Pioneer Girls. She was also served as leader for the Gideon’s Women’s Auxiliary. While her children were growing up, she served as a Cub Scout Den Mother.
She is predeceased by her siblings- Charles Dyer and Marion Dyer.
Betty is survived by her beloved husband- Allyn Lord; children- Daniel Lord of Scarborough, Clifford Lord of Scarborough, and James Lord of FL; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren with more expected.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 1 PM at the Scarborough Free Baptist Church, 55 Mussey Road in Scarborough, with Pastor Ron Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Steep Falls Cemetery. Arrangements are with Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service, Buxton.
