NORTHBRIDGE - Marie Jeanne Lavallee, 86, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in Beaumont Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center after a period of declining health.
She leaves a sister-in-law, Barbara E. (Greene) Lavallee of Northbridge; a nephew, Rev. Michael N. Lavallee, pastor of St. Ann’s Church in North Oxford; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother Normand R. Lavallee in 2008.
She was born in Northbridge, the daughter of Ludovic and Beatrice (Lussier) Lavallee and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Northbridge High School in 1949 and then completed the course of study to become a registered nurse at the Saint Vincent Hospital of Nursing.
Miss Lavallee worked as a private duty nurse at Saint Vincent Hospital and then at the Beaumont Nursing Home until she retired.
She was a communicant of Saint Peter’s Church and was a deeply religious woman. She enjoyed visiting the ocean, traveling, music and especially family gatherings.
The funeral will be held Monday, February 5, at 10:30 AM in Saint Peter’s Church, 39 Church Avenue, Northbridge, with her nephew Rev. Michael N. Lavallee as the principal celebrant. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Whitinsville. Donations in her name may be made to St. Peter’s Church, 39 Church Avenue, PO Box 46, Northbridge, MA 01534-0046. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
