Laconia----Nancy M. Aldrich, 88, of Franklin Street, died peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the Lakes Region General Hospital. She fought a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Nancy was born on February 7, 1929 in Harrisburg, PA, the daughter of Ira P. Romberger, Jr. and Ruth Mae (Saussaman)Romberger.
She had lived in Laconia for the past 48 years.
Nancy worked as an accountant for Lewis A. Aldrich for many years.
Nancy was a member of the Laconia Congregational Church.
Her hobbies and interests included traveling, music, bridge, bowling, and spectator sports. Nancy was a member of the Lakes Region United Way. She especially loved her vacations to Stone Harbor, NJ, every summer and rallying her siblings for another “Camp Romberger”.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Debbie VanSant Harvey and Michael Harvey of Gilford, and Vicki VanSant of Somerville, MA; sons, Norman P. Aldrich and Kathleen of Gilford, Peter A. Aldrich and Heidi of Spanaway, WA; Grandchildren, Sean Bucalo, Sarah, Kelli, Christina and Nikki. Two brothers, Ira Romberger of Hulmeville, PA, and Sam Romberger and Marge of Denver, CO; a sister Leslie Pixley and Milton of Malvern, PA; two nieces, Suzanne and Susan; seven nephews, Fred, Todd, Ira, Brian, Rob, John, and Tim. Romberger of Carlisle, PA. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Lewis A. Aldrich, brother John Romberger, sister, Ruth Hunter, sister-in-law, Fran Romberger, and brother-in-law, George Hunter.
She also leaves behind her beloved cat Misty.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Laconia Congregational Church, 69 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
Burial will be held in the spring in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
