Phyllis Ann Stanford, 88, of Manchester, NH, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at the Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH. She was born in Boston, MA on November 19, 1929, a daughter of the late the Joseph and Josephine (Stasio) Powers, and had formerly been a resident of Londonderry for 40 years, previously living in Revere and Saugus, MA. Phyllis and her husband Robert owned and operated Can-Do Company for many years. In her younger years, Phyllis enjoyed outdoor activities such as camping and fishing. She loved card games and liked to go to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun on occasion. She enjoyed gardening, reading, puzzles, water aerobics and traveling. Phyllis will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and a lover of pets, grandmother and great grandmother who loved nothing better than holiday family gatherings.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Robert J. Stanford of Manchester, two daughters, Cheryl Marks and Nadine Pelletier, both of Manchester, two sons, Harold (Bob) Marks and his wife Edith of Davenport, FL, and Bruce Marks, Sr and his wife Karen of Manchester, NH; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Jo Belmonte of Revere, MA, and Claire DeBow of California, as well as several nieces and nephews. Phyllis was predeceased by a son, Kevin P. Marks in 2002.
Calling hours were held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 2 to 5 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry with a funeral service that began at 5pm in the funeral home.
