WEBSTER – Gail A. (Clark) Quigley, aged 82, passed away peacefully Monday surrounded by the large and loving family that defined her full and vibrant life. Gail was predeceased ten years ago by her husband Donald, and leaves her beloved sister Barbara as well as her 4 unique children: Paul and his partner Anne of Boulder, CO, Timothy and his wife Sandy of Natick, MA JoEllen and her husband Tom of Princeton, MA and Sheila and her husband John of New Bern, NC; a daughter-in-law, Susan of Hopkinton; as well as ten beloved grandchildren, Brie, Katie, Dan, Jared, Zachary, Mikayla, Abby, Bobby, Luke and Juliana and two precious great grandchildren, Sawyer and Madison; her sister-in-law Arlene; and close friends, Allan, Rae and Herbie.
A life-long and proud resident of Webster, MA, Gail used her innate curiosity, keen intelligence, warm soul and dry wit to quickly connect with people of all ages and cultures in addition to four legged creatures of all types. Gail was employed as a Surgical Technician for over 30 years with a great team of skilled colleagues at Hubbard Regional Hospital and also served in a wide variety of roles at her beloved St. Louis Parish, where she found great friendship, comfort and nourished her deep spiritual beliefs. Gail was especially proud of her work in Serra Club which recently honored her for her valued service. Gail's house was the defacto neighborhood athletic facility, combination health and veterinarian clinic, botanical garden as well as an unlicensed gourmet bar and grill. Many stitches were avoided and souls were comforted in that warm and boisterous home.
Gail approached life by always wanting to know the "how" in addition to the "why" of all things. This inquisitive nature, combined with a philosophy of "let's try it" evolved into a deep expertise in all things but especially gardening and cooking. "Cool Nana Q" attended countless events in which her grandchildren participated over the years. She also became quite proficient with technology and used it frequently to stay in touch with her widely dispersed friends and family. Gail was a great, loyal, non-judgmental and honest friend to many, and modeled an unyielding work ethic that her children have embraced. She will be sorely missed but we who knew and loved her find great comfort in the fact that she will be united with the God she loves, and reunited with Donald and her many friends and family that have made that same journey before her.
A wake will be held at Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, MA on Friday, February 2 from 4-8 pm and a Mass in her honor will be held at Saint Louis Parish, 14 Lake Street, Saturday, February 3rd, at 10:00 AM. Private interment will take place at a later date. All are invited to attend a celebration of Gail's life at Point Breeze Pavilion, 114 Point Breeze Road, Webster immediately after the Mass. It is her wish that flowers be omitted and donations instead be made to Saint Louis Endowment Fund, 15 Lake Street, or to the Serra Club of Southern Worcester County, c/o Roland P.
