Obituary

Mrs. Uta K. Wisnieski was called home on Sunday, January 28, 2108.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Deacon Greg Bernard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the chapel at Bellevue.

Uta was born in Germany and moved to New York as a child, growing up in White Plains. She married a career soldier, and they were stationed at Fort Gordon in 1962. They fell in love with the area and stayed. A retired cosmetologist, Uta owned “Hair in Motion” in Martinez.

She is survived by her son, retired LTC Scott Wisnieski (Diane), a daughter, Karen L. Pollock, her grandsons, Matthew Pollock and Douglas Pollock (Katherine), two nephews, Chris and Dale Wisnieski, a niece, Tina Roberts Brehmer, as well as extended family in Germany. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, SFC Robert “Bob” Wisnieski, her parents, Max and Maria Breuer and a brother who died in infancy.

As a cancer survivor, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Uta’s memory to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
