SCARBOROUGH- Sarah A. Libby age 81, of Scarborough, passed away on January 26, 2018.
She was born in Winthrop, Maine on December 3, 1936, a daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Flanders) Pingree.
She lovingly raised her family and while doing so, she returned to school and graduated with an Associates’ Degree in Accounting from Casco Bay College in 1978. Sarah was employed at Leavitt & Parris, Inc as a bookkeeper for 27 years, retiring in 2006.
Sarah was such an avid Gone with the Wind fan that collecting memorabilia became a hobby in it-self. She also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy, classic movies, traveling, and spending time with her family.
She is predeceased by a son- Jeffrey A. Libby; and siblings- Edward, Dorothy, Mary, Russell, Harold, Helen, Robert, and Roger.
Sarah is survived by her children- Michael Libby and his wife Susan of Missouri, Dan Libby of Hollis, and Nancy York and her husband Dana of South Portland; daughter in law- Michelle Cline-Libby who is Jeff’s widow, a sister- Jane Johnston of LA; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Sarah’s family would like to thank the staff of The Landing at Cape Elizabeth and the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for their care and support.
