Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Lorraine M. (St. Jacques) Groleau, 77, of the East Springfield section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, January 27, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on June 24, 1940, a beloved daughter of the late Elphege and Delcia M. (Arpin) St. Jacques. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from Cathedral High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was employed for many years as a machine operator at Moore Drop Forge in Springfield and most recently had worked as a home health aide for Gentiva Health Services in Springfield. She was also a longtime caregiver for her late mother, Delcia. She was a loving mother to her sons and also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and her beloved cats. She leaves her two loving sons, Dennis M. Groleau of Chester and David A. Groleau of Springfield; her cherished grandson, Alexander James Groleau; her dear brother, Raymond St. Jacques and his wife, Darleen, of Holyoke; her dear brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald Groleau and his wife, Mary, of Southampton; her dear cousin, Irene Caplette and her husband, Donald, of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Groleau and St. Jacques families. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her loving daughter-in-law, Carol R. (Schloski) Groleau who was Called Home on July 16, 2014. Her funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of her family.
