Dorothy Barton Cole, 94, of Turner County, Georgia, died Friday, January 26, 2018, at Legacy Village in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, January 29, 2018, at Amboy Baptist Church in Turner County with the Rev. Tom Stephens and the Rev. Don Howell officiating. Interment will follow in Arp Cemetery in Irwin County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Mrs. Cole was born April 16, 1923, in Crisp County, Georgia, to the late James David & Myrtie Fowler Barton. She attended Rebecca High School and lived most of her life in this area. She was a seamstress and a homemaker. Mrs. Cole was a member and faithful attender of Amboy Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet Cole of Sylvester and Mary Jeff Cole of Mt. Vernon, Washington; a sister, Juanita Williford of Hiawassee; a brother, Glenn Barton of Parrott; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Jefferson Cole; her twin brother, Doris James Barton; a sister, Wansley Barton Youmans; and a brother, Jack Barton.
