SWANSEA…Mariette A. (Dupere) Bucko, 89, of Swansea passed away January 27, 2018 at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River.
She was the wife of Joseph Bucko of Swansea to whom she was married for 64 years.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Edouard and Mathilde (Martel) Dupere. She moved to Swansea in 1983.
Mrs. Bucko was employed as a Winder for Arkwright Finishing for many years before retiring in 1987. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Senior Citizens Club and the Classy Ladies Club. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and spending time with her family and had fond memories of summering in Ocean Grove since the 1950’s.
Along with her husband, survivors include her daughters; JoAnn Frizado (husband Richard) of Fall River, Donna Pomprowicz (husband Gary) of Swansea, and Mary Mello (husband Louis) of CT: her son, Michael J. Bucko (wife Pamela) of Tiverton: her brother, Normand Dupere of Swansea: Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Donalda Soucy, Anne Marie DuFresne, Lucille Waddington, Germaine Hickman and Gerard Dupere.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 9 AM from the Boyko Memorial Funeral Home, 709 Broadway Fall River, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Stanislaus Church, Rockland St. Fall River. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mariette’s name can be made to St. Stanislaus School, P.O.
