John B. Machado, 86, of New Bedford died January 27, 2018 at Hathaway Manor after a brief illness.
He was the husband of the late Eva G. (Esteves) Machado.
Born in Terceira, Azores, the son of the late Joao B. and Joaquina (das Merces) Machado, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
He enjoyed fishing and watching baseball.
Survivors include his 3 sons, John Machado, Jr., Joseph Machado and Alonso Machado, all of New Bedford; 2 daughters, Maria DeFatima Machado and her companion Richard Pontbriand of New Bedford and Lizette Silva and her husband John of Dartmouth; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Maria Franco, Luzia Dias, Alcinda Garcia, Laurentina Tamariz and Jose Machado.
