Mr. Ronald L. Rogers, Sr. passed away peacefully Thursday, January 25 at Morton Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born 63 years ago, the son of Theresa (Ferreira) Benoit and the late Lionel Rogers. Ron attended Taunton schools and was a 1972 graduate of Taunton High School. He was formerly employed by the Commonwealth of Ma. Department of Mental Health, and Morton Hospital, and was the owner of the former Ron’s Variety on Broadway in Taunton. Ron was a New England sports fan, and resided in Berkley and Taunton.
In addition to his mother, he leaves: 1 son: Ronald L. Rogers, Jr. of East Taunton; 2 granddaughters: Abigail and Ella Rogers of East Taunton; a stepson: Christopher Sault of Franklin, Ma.; an aunt: Hilda Charette of Dunedin, Fla.; a niece: Nicolette Rogers of Port Richey, Fla., and several cousins and special friends. He was the former husband of Susan (Menard) Rogers and Christine (Roberts) Rogers, both of Taunton. Ron was predeceased by his brother, Leonard Rogers of Port Richey, Fla., his stepfather, Donald Benoit of Dunedin, Fla., and his stepdaughter, Kara Sault of Berkley. Ron’s family would like to extend a special thanks to Steward Services for their care and compassion.
