William C. “Bill” Lafaber, 75, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, January 26, 2018, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held 1 PM, Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Holt Baptist Church in Irwin County with the Rev. David Biggers officiating.
Mr. Lafaber was born October 4, 1942, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He moved to the community in 1983, coming from Tampa, Florida. He worked as a security guard for Irwin Manufacturing and also served as the director of the Fitzgerald-Ben Hill County Humane Society. Mr. Lafaber loved animals, especially his horse Levi. He was a member of Holt Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, JoAnn Ritchie Lafaber of Fitzgerald; a son, William “Billy” & Farah Lafaber of South Riding, Virginia; a granddaughter who was the light of his life, Gabrielle “Gabby” Lafaber; a sister-in-law, Pam Lane of Fitzgerald; a niece, Marlo Sullivan of Leesburg, Florida; and two great-nephews, Clayton Sullivan and Austin Sullivan.
