Mr. Normand D. Tanguay, of Taunton, Ma., and formerly of Pawtucket, R.I., entered into rest Friday, January 26 at his residence surrounded by his loving family, following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Pariseault) Tanguay. He was born 59 years ago in Pawtucket, the son of C. Normand and Claire (Clavet) Tanguay. He was educated in Pawtucket and had been a Taunton resident for the past 2 months. Prior to his illness, Normand had been employed as a machinist for Lavigne Manufacturing in Cranston for 7 years. He was previously employed at Swank, Inc. in Taunton and Attleboro. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served during the 1970’s. He was a Little League and high school umpire in Rhode Island, and also participated in games and tournaments at the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y. He was an avid sports fan.
In addition to his wife, of Taunton and parents, of Pawtucket, he leaves: 2 sons: Jason Tanguay and his companion, Kimberly Plante of Cumberland, R.I., and Christopher Tanguay and his companion, Jacqueline Ricci of E. Providence, R.I.; 1 daughter Michelle Crossman and her husband, Cary of Taunton; 1 brother: Robert Tanguay and his wife, Kimberly of N. Providence, R.I.; 2 sisters: Jeanne Altrui and her husband, Ralph of Pawtucket, and Carol Tanguay of Pawtucket; 8 grandchildren: Jaimie Reposa, Christopher Tanguay, Jaelynn Ricci, Julianna Tanguay, Alexis Coilfi, Abbigail Tanguay, Natalina Almeida and Nathan Almeida, and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Monday, February 5 at 10:00 A.M. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, February 4 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
