GUIGLI, Ernesto (Born May 23, 1925) of Wellesley, passed peacefully on January 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Devoted husband of the late Maria Teresa (Cuoghi) Guigli. Beloved father of Robert E. Guigli and his wife Charlene of Wellesley, Annalisa Bishop and her husband Eric of Wellesley, Susanna Mele and her husband Stephen of Wellesley, and the late David M. Guigli. Loving grandfather “Nonno” of Matthew Guigli and his wife Caitlin, Michael, Danielle, and Marina Guigli, Jonathan, and Angela Bishop, and Mark, Christopher, and Andrew Mele, all of Wellesley. Proud great-grandfather of Grayson, Hunter, and Griffin Guigli. Caring brother of Gabriela Piacenti, Teresa Soliani, and Paolo Ferrotti all of Rome, Italy.
Founder of Ernest Guigli & Sons, Inc. of Natick; Korean War Veteran, Sergeant U.S. Army; member of the Wellesley Rotary Club, three time recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award; member of the Italo-American Educational Club of Wellesley; member of the Advisory Board of the South Shore National Bank; and founding member of St. James the Great Church, Wellesley.
Visiting hours at George F. Doherty & Sons, 477 Washington St. (Rt. 16), WELLESLEY on Sunday January 28 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Paul Church, Wellesley at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 29. Additional visitation prior to the Mass from 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
