Obituary

East Bridgewater – Wesley Damon 88, a lifelong resident of East Bridgewater, passed away on the morning of January 25, 2018 of natural causes at the Brockton Hospital.

Born on April 13, 1929 in East Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Forest and Janet Damon.

Wesley had worked as a cigarette vender and a mechanic. In 1951 he built his own automotive repair shop next to his residence “Damon’s Service and Repair” which is still operating today and run by his son Wesley Damon, Jr. Shortly after opening his automotive business, he also built a new house for his family.

He greatly enjoyed hunting, camping and was a member of the E, Norris Brown bowling league. He also enjoyed “playing his numbers” and visiting with the ladies and friends at Cumberland Farms, always with lots of jokes and laughs.

Wesley adored being with people and had no problem lighting up a room with his entertaining humor and deep love.

Wesley was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor, and he had cherished every moment with his family. He was a lifelong and well-known resident of East Bridgewater and his children remain in the same neighborhood community.

He was the husband of his first wife, the late Gladys (Brown) Damon and later the late Elaine (Brown) Damon.

He leaves behind his two daughters Susan and Bill Myrick and Debbie and Rick Nutt and one son Wes and Dawn Damon, Jr. all of East Bridgewater. He is also survived by his grandchildren Michael O’Kelly, the late Jason O’Kelly, Kevin Myrick, Joshua O’Kelly, Justin O’Kelly, Johnathan Flaherty, Melissa Damon, Mike Coffin, Michelle Coffin and Brian Coffin, and his great granddaughters Lexie McLaughlin, Lilly Myrick, Autumn Skye O’Kelly, Autumn Fratalia and Skyla Elaine Damon.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
