James "Ty" Irvin, 45, of Tifton passed away Friday, January 26, 2018, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2018, at Union Grove Church of God with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mr. Irvin will be laid to rest at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Chula. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 28, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Andy Anderson, Russ Smith, Walter Lentz, McRay Lentz, Buddy Cawley, Lance Lastinger, Kasey Luke and Monty Foskey will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 30, 1972 in Tifton, Mr. Irvin was the son of Larry Irvin and Leany Shellhorse Irvin of Tifton. He worked at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany and loved hunting and fishing. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of Tift Avenue Church of God.
In addition to his parents, Mr Irvin is survived by his wife, Skye Lastinger Irvin of Tifton; one daughter, Courtney McKee of Roswell; and one sister, Haley Irvin Lentz and her husband, Walter Lentz and their children, McRay Lentz and Madison Claire Lentz; his father-in-law, Wayman Lastinger; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Faith and Buddy Cawley and their children, Dawn and Monty Foskey and their children; and Lance and Sue Lastinger and their children.
