Manchester- Emilienne M. Lapointe, 98 died January 23, 2018, at Life Care Center in Winter Haven Florida after a brief illness.
Emilienne was born in St. Magloire de Bellechasse, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Arthemise (Fradette) Larochelle. She had been a resident of Manchester for 64 years.
Prior to retirement, she was a presser at E & R Laundry for 20 years. When she was first married they lived in Woburn, Canada and then moved to Coburn Gore, Maine where they ran a boarding house for lumberjacks, hunters, and fishermen. She loved to cook and provided dozens of homemade doughnuts and gallons of beans everyday to these hard working men. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, weaving, soap making, and playing cards.
In her life: Predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years, Ovila. Coming from a family of 10 children she is survived by one sister, Therese Lapointe of St. Magloire de Bellechasse, Quebec Canada.
Children: Jean Denis Lapointe of Canada, Andre Lapointe and his companion Monique Boutin of Manchester, Raymond Lapointe of Hemet California, and Francine Chalifour and her husband Robert of Haines City Florida.
Grandchildren: Sonya and her husband Denis, Lyette, Camil, Dominique and her husband Rich, Chantal and her companion Jake, Loic, Nicole and her companion Steve, Ken and his wife Tamara, Scott and his wife Amy, Catherine and her husband Craig.
Great-grandchildren: Jacob, Nicolas, Nieve, Caleb, Thomas, Emma, Jonah, Madeleine, Laurynn, Craig, Logan, Brady, Taylor, Nicholas, and Steve’s girls; Taylor and April.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 9:00 AM in St. Augustin Church, Beech St.
Committal prayers will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
