Marco Richardson Joseph Rose passed away on January 21, 2018 unexpectedly at the age of 34. Marco was born on October 8, 1983 to Marc A. Joseph and Sharon J. Rose in Boston, MA. He spent most of his youth in between Boston and Brookline, later moving to Weymouth with his family. He was a star football player for Brookline and Weymouth High Schools. He took his talents to Nichols College in the Fall of 2002 to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Communications.
His love for the game of football, and sports in general, grew throughout his time as an athlete. He was an avid Boston sports fan who loved the Red Sox. He also had much admiration and respect for Kobe Bryant, following him throughout his career as a Los Angeles Laker.
Marco will be remembered for his ability to put others first. Throughout his life he showed his selflessness, continuously working to brighten the lives of the people around him with smiles and laughter. Whether it was sending a mass text with a song he thought would uplift someone’s spirit, or a call to just say hello, Marco always thought of others and wanted to help anyway he could. His family and friends will remember him dancing to Michael Jackson and rapping the words to any Tupac song. He will truly be missed.
Marco is survived by his father Marc A. Joseph, his step-mother Rose Joseph, his godmother Adele St. Vil, his brothers: Marvin Joseph, Richard Joseph, Marc C. Joseph, Paul Joseph, Jackie R. Rose, and Milton Osteen, his sisters: Nadine Pierre-Louis (née Joseph), Leah Rose-Walker, and Claudette Duran (née Accime), as a well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Marco was preceded in death by his mother Sharon Jane Rose.
The family will receive visitors on February 2, 2018 at the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway in Roslindale from 7 pm to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint John Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington Street West Roxbury on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 10 am. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, 45 Fairview Avenue in Boston.
