John Edward Mason, 64, of Tifton passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018, at his residence. A private service and burial will be held for Mr. Mason at a later date.
Born October 28, 1953 in Oglethorpe, Mr. Mason was the son of the late Edward Mason, Sr. and Daisey Mae Franklin Mason. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Lee Mason and Bobby Lee Mason. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Lane Industries and loved to spend time outside. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Mr. Mason is survived by his wife, Valerie Mason of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Alex and Stacey Mason of Stockbridge; one step-daughter, Jamie Yawn of Cordele; one brother, Edward Mason, Jr. of Stockbridge; two sisters, Deborah Sue Hutto of Tifton and Barbara Ann McLeod of Cordele; and three grandchildren, Catherine Mason, Brianna Davis and Allie Davis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
