Madeline (Ramos) Fermino Jacob, 98, of New Bedford passed away on Tuesday January 23, 2018 surrounded by her family.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Andrade) Ramos, she lived in Freetown and New Bedford for most of her life.
Mrs. Jacob was formerly employed by the Sippican Corporation as an electronic tester until her retirement. She had previously worked at Lincoln Park and Ocean Spray Cranberry.
She was a member of the Ladies Faithful Club. She had been a former den mother for the Boy Scouts. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and was well known for her floral arrangements, crochet items and cooking. She attended evening classes for furniture refinishing, hat making, painting and sewing.
She is survived by five children, Peter R. Fermino of Cranston, RI, Paul D. Fermino and Brenda J. Pires, both of New Bedford, Juliana J. David of California, and Anna A. Tate of Texas; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday January 27th at 10 AM at the New Life Pentecostal Church, 789 Main St., Acushnet.
