Ellen M. Fecteau, 72, of Berlin, NH passed away on Monday afternoon January 22, 2018 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. She was born in Rumford, Maine on January 11, 1946 the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Eldridge) MacDonald and was raised and educated in Rumford. She received her nurses training at the St. Louis Hospital School of Nursing and has since resided in Berlin, NH. Ellen was employed as an LPN in Berlin for 30 plus years. She was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, the Holy Family Church Folk Group and the Berlin Quilters Guild. She loved her home and her family, where she was very involved with their activities, volunteering in many ways. She followed her husband and her son playing music and was always there until the evening was complete. She was a very giving person and the caretaker for everyone, putting them first. Ellen also enjoyed reading, the outdoors, camping, crocheting, knitting, quilting, music and liked to dance.
Members of the family include her husband of 49 years Raymond Fecteau of Berlin; her children Wayne Fecteau and his wife Patricia of Merrimack, Tonya Leveille and her husband Alan of West Milan and Corey Fecteau and his wife Bridget of Bedford; 4 grandchildren Christopher Tolson, Cameron Leveille, Alynna Leveille and Thomas Fecteau; 2 sisters Frances Breau of Rumford, ME and Dorothy Sanschagrin and her husband Henry of Gorham, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Chick MacDonald and an infant brother James.
SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning Jan. 26, 2018 at 10 AM at Holy Family Church, Gorham, NH. Interment will be in the Russian City Cemetery in Berlin. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Anyone who wishes may make a donation to either the Androscoggin Valley Hospital, Berlin, NH or to the American Cancer Society.
