Carolina (Picardo) Danieli of Somerville died on Sunday, January 21, at the Winchester Hospital. Born and raised in Monte Falcone, Avellino, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Lucricia (Conti) Picardo. Caroline came to the U.S. in 1950 and settled in Somerville, where she spent the remainder of her life.
Carolina was the beloved wife of the late John Danieli, and the devoted mother of Lawrence Danieli, Antonetta Bither and her late husband Scott, all of Somerville, Grace Maidrand and her husband John of Burlington, Josephine Baxter and her husband Michael, John Danieli and his wife Marie, all of Somerville. She was the loving grandmother of Toni-Ann and her husband Matthew, Scott and his wife Sara, Danielle, Lauren, Michael G., Daniel, John Joseph and his wife Sarah, Carolyn and Rebecca, and the loving great grandmother of Abigail, Emily, Scott, Eleanor and Valerie. Carolina was the sister of Maria Nasta and her late husband Antonio of Medford, Assunta Coccinello of Avellino, Italy, and the late Raffaella Sordillo, and sister-in-law of Domenic Danieli and his wife Florence of Wilmington. She was the aunt of Kathleen Danieli of Stoneham, dear friend of Dejia and Brooklyn Brown, and is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, January 26 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford St., Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours Thursday, January 25, from 4 through 8 PM.
