Obituary

Paul Thomas Moore, Sr. 94, of Walpole passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Norwood Hospital. He was the beloved husband for 70 years to Evelyn (Laquidara) Moore.

Born on May 24, 1923 in Boston, MA he was one out of seven children born to the late Frank J. and Mary (Morris) Moore.

Paul grew up in the Roslindale neighborhood of Boston and graduated from Roslindale High School. After graduating high school, Paul joined the United States Marine Corps in 1942. Paul was deployed in the Asia-Pacific Theater and fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima. He was discharged in 1946 with the rank of Corporal. After his discharge from the Marines he continued his education at Westfield State College where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in teaching.

Paul taught Graphic Arts at Newton North High School for 25 years. In his spare time he enjoyed oil painting and loved to travel to Disney World with his family and visit his grandchildren in Illinois.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Linda M. Panarelli and her husband Tony of Stoughton, his grandchildren, Colleen Moore of IL, and Clinton Moore and his wife Corey of IL. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Sophia and Elijah Forouzi and the mother of his grandchildren, Patty Moore. He was the father of the late Paul T. Moore, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation hour on Friday, January 26, from 11:00am - 12Noon, followed by a funeral service at Noon in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main Street, Walpole.

Interment will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made in his late son’s name to Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, 5526 West 13400 South #510, Salt Lake City, UT 84096.
