Gerald Francis DeGregorio, of Medford, formerly of Boston’s North End, entered eternal peace, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 21st at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was 90.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Filomena (Natola) DeGregorio. Gerald was an Executive Officer with the Teamsters Local 259.
Family was the most important thing to Gerald. It was the source of his joy and happiness in life. Gerald was the beloved husband of Josephine (Torra) DeGregorio. They were married on May 4, 1952 in St. Leonard Church, of Boston’s North End. Together they shared 65 years of loving marriage. He was the devoted father of Vincent DeGregorio and his wife Deborah of Stoneham and Florida, Marie Faro and her husband James of North Andover, and Gerald A. DeGregorio and his wife Deborah of Braintree. Gerald was the loving grandfather of James Faro Jr. and his wife Angela of Newburyport, Nicolette Mascari and her husband Adam of Wayland, Cassandra Faro of North Andover, John and Daniel DeGregorio, both of Braintree. He was the loving great grandfather of Kayla, James III and Gavin Faro, Carina and Dominic Mascari. All of his grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life. Gerald is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings Anna Cappola, Christopher and Pasquale DeGregorio.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Thursday, January 25th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
