Mettling, James Richard, 58, died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at his home in Utica, Indiana.
He worked 37 years in the lighting department at Far Out Music and was a member of the 4C Club in Utica. James was also a roadie for several music groups in Kentucky and Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert A. and Jearldine Burruss Mettling.
Survivors include his two sons, Mason James Mettling and Connor M. Mettling; two grandchildren; brothers, Gilbert A. Mettling, Jr. (Dorothy), Michael J. Mettling (Sandra), Kelly T. Mettling (Donna) and Kevin P. Mettling; and his sister, Sharon Thompson (Dan).
Visitation will be 1pm-7:30pm Wednesday, January 24 at Owen Funeral Home – Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Road, with service beginning at 7:30pm.
