Brigham Allen Dominy, 80, of Dublin, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2018, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home in Dublin. Mr. Dominy will be laid to rest at 3:30 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Mr. Ted Jarrell and Kian Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, January 22, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home in Dublin.
Bill Harrell, Bryan Barner, Kian Taylor, Billy Knowles, Don Tanner, Marshall McDuffie will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be a group of former employees of J.P. Stevens/Forstmann.
Mr. Dominy was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the National Guard. He was of the Methodist faith and retired from J.P. Stevens/Forstmann. He enjoyed spending his free time oil painting. Mr. Dominy was preceded in death by his parents, Brigham M. Dominy and Mary Will Prescott Dominy; wife, Sandra Combs Dominy; son, B. Allen “Chip” Dominy, Jr.; step-daughter, Andrea Mallette; sister, Gwendolyn D. Harrell; and step-mother, Nell B. Dominy Hawkins.
Mr. Dominy is survived by his step-son, James M. Mallette of Virginia Beach, Virginia; grandson, Dustin Mallette; great-grandaughter, MacKenleigh Mallette; sister, Kay Barner of Dublin; step-sisters, Joy Renfroe and Gail Dominy, both of Dublin and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
