KENNETH RAY OVERSTREET “POPPIE”, of Clermont, KY, formerly of Louisville, was born March 30, 1935 in Knifley, KY. and went home to be with Christ Jesus January 18, 2018.
Poppie was a loving devoted father, strong in faith who successfully led generations of his family to Christ Jesus. He was a US Army veteran and retired from the Jefferson County Board of Education.
Preceding him in death was his son, Ronald G. Overstreet; parents, Walter and Lou Vina Holt Overstreet; great grandmother, Tina Holt; brothers, Charles and Russell Overstreet; and sister, Eva Ross.
Left to cherish his loving memory are daughters, Brenda L. Overstreet-Kopatz (Fritz Kopatz) and Glenda Overstreet Willis (Mark Logsdon); granddaughter, Nicole Overstreet; grandsons, Samuel Davenport, Jeremy Overstreet (Jere) and Christopher Swanks (Erica); great grandsons, Nolan Ray, Ethan, Alec and Ashton; siblings, Earl Overstreet (Virginia) and Ubbie Overstreet (Mary), Brenda Biggs and Naomi Cave; multiple nieces, nephews and cousins; and Ms. Tirrie Jenkins (Caregiver) and family who ushered him into the presence of the Lord.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Lebanon National Cemetery, Lebanon, KY.
Visitation will be 2- 8 p.m. Sunday.
