Laconia-----Lawrence James "Sonny" Ryan, 69, of Warren Street passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital, Lebanon.
Sonny was born on May 16, 1948 in Laconia the son of James "Larry" Ryan and Irene Patten (Carrigan). Sonny was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and was very proud of his US Marine Corps service.
Sonny owned and operated Ryan Delivery for over 20 years and he was a driver for Granite State Shuttle until his retirement in 2013. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1, the Laconia Rod & Gun Club and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1670.
Sonny loved the oldies, especially the fifty and sixties, dancing, and he was very protective of his family.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy (Bailey) Ryan, of Laconia; a son, Travis D. Ryan, of Laconia; 3 sisters, Sandra LaPierre and her husband, Rocky, Judy Ryan and Jeannie Day and her husband, Norman; 5 nephews and 9 nieces. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Cody J. Ryan, his sister Mary Swormstedt and his mother-in-law Ella Bailey.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia NH using the Carriage House entrance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 10:00am at the St. Andre Bessette Parish-St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia NH.
Burial will be held in the spring at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery.
