Carolyn A. Walsh, 58, of Greenville, RI and Miromar Lakes, FL, passed away peacfully on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the wife of Col. Charles F. Walsh, RIANG, (Ret.) and mother of Charles M. Walsh.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of Rita E. (O’Connor) Mullaney and the late John J. Mullaney. She had lived in Smithfield since their marriage in 1986 previously living in Warwick.
Carolyn was a graduate of Providence College, held a B.S. and M.A. She was a Director at Organogenesis of Canton, Massachusetts. She was a member of the RI Society of Certified Public Accountants.
She is also survived by her brother John J. Mullaney and her sisters: Arline E. McHugh and Diane C. Mullaney. She was the sister-in-law of Sheila Hampton (Dave), Timothy Walsh, John Walsh (Laurie), Michaela Reynolds (John), Mary -Elizabeth Fornaro (Tim) and the late Kathleen Walsh.
Carolyn was a passionate hockey mom, the cool aunt and auntie #2, interior design consultant and fashion critic for her friends and most importantly the voice of reason to many. She enjoyed travel, shopping, golf, shopping, shoes, shopping, numerous home renovations, time spent hosting all who entered her home and shopping. But her greatest joy in life was making lasting memories with big Charlie while raising little Charlie, who made her proud every minute of everyday. Because of all this and more, Carolyn will be missed dearly and celebrated by all who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday at 11am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Avenue, Greenville. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Friday 4-8pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
