Norma B. (Iola) Grisé, age 88, was called safely home on January 14, 2018 from Baystate Medical Center. She was born on July 4, 1929 in Haverhill, MA. Norma was the daughter of the late Dominic and Concetta (Schena) Iola. Norma graduated from Haverhill High School and attended Baypath College. It was in her college years that she was set up on a blind date with J. Myles Grise' and fell in love. Myles and Norma loved to travel and spent many years vacationing in their homes in Vermont and Plumb Island, MA. They were married for over 50 years before Myles passed in 1998. During their years together, Norma became co-owner of the Grise' Funeral Home. She helped with book work and office management for many years before passing it on to her son James E. Grise'. Norma was an accomplished artist, a skilled bridge player and a very kind and generous person, who has donated to many different organizations throughout the years. She loved hosting and entertaining, cooking and being around family. She was a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Parish. Norma was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She leaves 3 sons, J. Mark Grise' and his wife Mary of Pepperill, MA, Richard D. Grise' of Chicopee and James E. Grise' and his wife Janice of Chicopee; 1 brother, Louis Robert Iola of Haverhill, MA; 6 grandchildren, Joseph Grise' and his wife Heather, Michelle Rossi, John Grise' and his wife Lynn, Thomas Grise' and his wife Lisa, Catherine Welch and her husband Tim and Angela Belz and her husband Jeffrey. She also leaves 14 beloved great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and friends. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M., at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 19th at 10:00 A.M., at the Grise Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Assumption Church. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
