Dartmouth – Kenneth J. “Kenny” Monteiro, 75, of N. Dartmouth passed away January 4, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the spouse of Wayne Pacheco.
Mr. Monteiro was born in New Bedford, son of the late Joseph F. and Agnes (Monte) Monteiro, and resided in Dartmouth most of his life. He was employed as a teacher by the Dartmouth Public School System for 35 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, Florida Gamma Chapter; Moose Lodge #914; and the Washington Club. He enjoyed traveling, antiques, sunbathing and his dogs.
In addition to his spouse, he is survived by a brother: Gordon F. Travers and his wife, Gayla; his stepson: Wayne Pacheco, Jr. and his wife, Jessica; 2 step grandchildren: Makayla Silva and Bryan Folger; 1 niece: Heidi Travers; 2 nephews: Wayne and Scott Travers; and 1 great nephew: Addison Kaeterle. He was stepfather of the late Dawn Pacheco.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial visiting hours at the Kirby Funeral Home, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford on Friday, January 19, 2018, 5:00-7:30 P.M. followed immediately by a memorial service at 7:30 P.M.
