In Taunton, January 14, 2018 Leonard Fernandes Rocha, age 89 passed away at home following a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. Leonard leaves his wife Eva (Dufresne) Rocha of Taunton. He was born in Taunton, the son of the late Gregorio & Maria (Fernandes) Rocha. Leonard resided in Taunton all his life. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corp. Leonard worked as a janitor for St. Anthony’s Church and School in Taunton, he was a City of Taunton employee for the TMLP and the Taunton Waste Water Treatment Facility, the operator of the former restaurant Leonard’s of Norton/ Frates and the owner of Leonard’s Limousine, working for all the local funeral homes for forty years. He was a former member of the P.A.C.C., the St. Vincent De Paul Society and he enjoyed traveling, vacationing in New Hampshire, taking bus trips with his wife, dining out and annual family gatherings. Leonard is survived by his children Karen Charette and her husband George of Mattapoisett, Paula Dennen and husband Stephen of Taunton, Gregory Rocha and his wife Cynthia of Berkley and Susan Rocha and her husband William Crosier of Pembroke. He also leaves his siblings, Hilda Ribeiro and her husband John of Norton, Barbara Ann George and her husband John of Taunton and the late Maria Andrade, Laurinda Neugeboren and Dr. Gregory Rocha Jr.. Leonard also leaves his six loving grandchildren Dawnne, Jarrod, Nathan, Melissa, Derek and Chloe and five great grandchildren. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. Taunton, MA 02780 on Friday, January, 19th at 10 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony’s Church in Taunton at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday from 4-7 pm. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
