Rita A. (Charron) Iwanicki, 93 of Salem, passed away at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield on Saturday, January 13, 2018, following a long illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Henry J. Iwanicki.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Celestin and Rose (Santerre) Charron. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy and the Wilfred Academy of Beauticians. She first worked as a hairdresser in Salem and later worked full time for the former CBS Hytron, while maintaining her work as a beautician on a part time basis. Rita worked for the former Parker Bros. of Salem for over 24 years , retiring in 1989. Rita was a member of the former St. Joseph Parish and more recently a member of Ste. Anne Parish of Salem. She was devoted to her family and to creating a welcoming home for her family and friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Jean M. Smith and her husband James of Salem, Eileen R. Dube-Rosato and her husband Ralph Rosato of Wenham, Elaine C. Lawson and her husband Bradley of Franklinton, NC, three grandsons, Jason Dube, Jarrett Dube and his wife Chantal, Joshua Dube and his wife Jacqui and a great-grandson, Greyson Dube. She also leaves two sisters, Lucille Levesque and Lorraine Letarte both of Salem, as well as nieces and nephews.
Rita’s funeral services will be private. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
