Jean passed away, at forty-eight years old, from cancer on January 13, 2018. Jean was a creative and talented artist and designer. She loved drawing and painting from the time that she could first hold a pencil. She decorated everything around her and painted everything from walls to little wooden boxes. Jean grew up beside the Hudson River, north of New York City and attended the Irvington Public Schools, graduating from the Irvington High School. She then went to the Pratt Institute to study art and subsequently Jean joined her parents, Roger and Anne Griswold, who had just moved to the Head of Westport, MA in 1991.
Jean went to the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth, to take a business degree in management and graduated summa cum laude in 2004. After graduation, she was hired by Home Depot as a kitchen designer and worked there for fourteen years. She designed kitchens for many families in the area and in 2015 she moved to Dartmouth Building Supply as one of their top designers and worked there until June, 2017.
Jean married Christopher Dunn in July of 2004. Chris is a devoted husband, who never left her side during her illness. Jean loved their two Boston terriers, Lola and Enzo. She loved the beach, swimming and the New England Patriots. Jean was an exceptionally good cook and she and Chris both loved gourmet food and wine. She enjoyed the times they had on their boat together, the JackieJean and especially loved the beauty of Westport, the sunsets, and the many wonderful friends she made here.
Jean is survived by her husband, Christopher Dunn, her mother, Anne Griswold, and her parents in law, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Dunn of Somerset. She is also survived by her two older brothers and their families: Roger Parkman Griswold, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie and Caroline, Olivia and Roger, III and Stephen Merrill Griswold and his wife, Jill and Samantha and Doug, Stephen, Jr. and Haille.
