Nunziata "Nancy" (Pinga) McDONOUGH, 92, of Smithfield, formerly of Harmony and Johnston, died Friday. She was the beloved wife of the late William E. McDonough and beloved mother of the late William E. McDonough, II.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Mary (Bucci) Pinga. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Pafenberg of Arlington, Virginia and her grandson, Troy Pafenberg, and his wife Erica of San Jose, CA, and two sisters, Mary Fico, Lena Schwartz. She was the sister of the late Joseph and Frank Pinga, Anna Gendron, and Rose Byron.
Nancy loved to bake and was affectionately known by many as “Sara Lee”.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8:30 from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Rt.44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville, 02828. Visitation Wednesday 4-6pm. Please omit flowers.
