Joseph Francisco, age 72, passed away on Jan 9, 2018 at Baystate Medical center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Alcobaca, Portugal on July 24, 1945 to Manuel and Gertrudes (Campos) Francisco. Joe served in the Portuguese Army before coming to the United States where he graduated from Westfield State College. He was a communicant of Holy Name Parish in Chicopee. He worked as a supervisor at The Hartford Ins. Co., as a supervisor in the warehouse at AG Spaulding and as a supervisor at J Polep in Chicopee. Joseph was also a dedicated member of the Portuguese American club in Chicopee where he served as treasurer and manager and where he enjoyed watching Benfica play soccer. Joseph leaves his loving and loyal wife Maria (Almeida) Francisco of Chicopee; two daughters Anabela Wallace and her husband Michael of Springfield, Nancy Andreopoulos and her husband Nikolas of Longmeadow; his mother Gertrudes (Campos) Francisco of Portugal and four grandchildren Jacob Wallace and Alex, Ari and Elias Andreopoulos. A Funeral Service will be held on Sat, Jan. 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Holy Name Church in Chicopee. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on the morning of the funeral from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee.
