FALL RIVER… Zephir Roger Roy, 88, of Fall River died Tuesday, January 9, 2018.
He was born in Fall River a son of the late Zephir and Albertine (Banville) Roy and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
He was a Communicant of St., Bernadette’s Parish. He was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus on Fish Road Tiverton.
Roger had been a weaver at Berkshire Hathaway, Providence Pile, and Quaker Fabric until his retirement.
He had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Roger was very proud of his service as a veteran. Some of the clubs he was a member of were V.F.W., American Legion, D.A.V., AMVETS, and the Elks club. There were many other clubs that Roger was a past member of as well.
Survivors include his sisters M. Alice Andrade and Rose M. Cantin both of Fall River a brother Joseph Adelarde Roy of NY, several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late A. Theresa Beauregard, Romeo, J. Armand, Peter, Conrad, Albert, and Frank Roy.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday at 9AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Bernadette’s Parish, 529 Eastern Ave., Fall River. Interment will be in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown, Rhode Island. Calling hour will be Thursday 5 – 8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517. Arrangements are by the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, MA.
