Andrew J. “Andy” Gangi, age 58, a lifelong resident of Winchester, passed away suddenly on Jan. 9, 2018. He was the husband of Rosanne (Figlioli) Gangi.
Born in Everett, MA, Andy was the son of John A. and the late Rosemarie P. (Oppiddo) Gangi of Winchester.
Andy was raised and educated in Winchester, and graduated from Winchester High School with the class of 1977. He worked for many years as a foreman in refrigeration repair.
Andy enjoyed trips to the casino, times spent on the Cape and in Maine, and travel.
An avid sports fan, Andy enjoyed fishing, golfing and card playing. He loved being a grandfather and could often be found playing with his grandchildren, who were his greatest joy.
In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his children: Andrew J. Gangi, Jr. of Winchester, and Danielle Lynne Gangi of Woburn. He was the devoted grandfather of Dominick Jovanni, TayaLynne Grace, Grayson Eddie and the late Raehannah Rose, and the dear brother of Lisa A. Hennelly and husband Tim of Winchester, Veronica L. Drougas and husband Ernie, Christine M. McLean and husband David, Jeffrey P. Gangi and wife Meaghan, all of Woburn, and Jonathan P. Gangi and wife Candice of Methuen. He is further survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Friday, January 12, from 4:00 - 8:00 PM, and again on Saturday, January 13th, at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
