TOLIVER - Betty Jo Toliver, 86, of St. Marys GA passed away January 8, 2018 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL.
Mrs. Toliver was born in Charlotte, NC and moved back to St. Marys, GA three years ago from Yulee. She had a deep Christian faith and served Jesus in both Baptist and Methodist churches. She loved her family and found joy in caring for her husband, children and grandchildren. Mrs. Toliver loved sports. She was a 1950 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville where she was voted “Most Athletic” of her senior class. She continued participating in softball, swimming and bowling well into her adult years. She was an avid Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan.
She was predeceased by her parents, Grady S. and Christine Miller Mauldin, and by her brother, Grady Mauldin.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 66 years, C. S. "Buddy" Toliver, Jr. of St. Marys, GA; her children, Debra Walker (Willie) of St. Marys, GA, David Toliver (Charmane), also of St. Marys, and Angela Spikes (Ricky) of Yulee, FL; a sister in law, Jo Mauldin, also of Yulee; eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, January 13, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Green Pine Cemetery.
