Audrey Anne Fromknecht died on January 5th 2018 on her Wedding Anniversary to Lou, at the age of 90. She was born on December 24th 1927 in St Joseph Missouri. Thereafter the family moved to Erie, Pennsylvania and settled there when Audrey was a young child. She is preceded in death by her brothers Edward and William Ames. William was a prisoner of war in 1950 during the Korean conflict and at the age of 21 died while in captivity. This was a continuing source of pain for Audrey who admired her brother for his service to his country. She is also was predeceased by her 3 children Ronald, Mark and Lynn as well as her two husband's Dick and Lou Fromknecht who were brothers. She married Lou following Dick’s passing away. She is survived by her dear sister Catharine Ray of Tennessee, her brother Robert Ames of Erie Pennsylvania, her nephew, Jeffrey Ames of Ohio, grandniece, Tammy Castleberry of Castaic, California, two grandchildren Charles and Holly and two great-grandchildren. Audrey moved to Ventura in 1979 from Erie Pennsylvania when she married her late first husband's brother, Lou Fromknecht. It was a blissful marriage. She worked for GE in Pennsylvania and then for a brief time doing clerical work for the County of Ventura. Audrey had many good friends being an outgoing, friendly, warm kind and generous person and she was loved by all who knew her. She had a wonderful sense of humor which endeared her to her friends and helped her get through the many trials of life she endured. She took daily walks to Camino Real park with her beloved dog, Casey and she loved to bowl which she did once a week for years with her two bowling friends. She was a devout Catholic and had many friends at the Our Lady of Assumption Church in Ventura California. She was an active, vital woman until her illness in early November 2017. She will be missed by everyone particularly those special friends and her dog Casey.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10am Wednesday January 17, 2018 in Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 3175 Telegraph Road Ventura. Burial will follow in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura. Arrangements are under the direction of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura.
