ACUSHNET — Robert Farris Rapoza, age 65 years, of Acushnet, died Saturday October 28, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. He was the husband of Shirlee Potter.
Son of the late Antonio P. and Cecelia (Yazbeck) Rapoza, he was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of his life.
A high school graduate, he obtained his Bachelor degree in Chemistry and his Masters degree in Business Administration.
For many years, he was employed by AT&T and in recent years as seafood associate for Market Basket. In his younger years, he loved to play pool and was an avid bowler. With his wife he enjoyed visits to beach areas watching fishing boats and sailboats pass by. An avid sports fan, his life time enjoyment was watching sports on TV.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Dennis Vigeant, Jessica Vigeant, Steven Rapoza and Thomas Davis, his grandchildren Alexa Rebelo, Tyler Vigeant, Isabel Vigeant, and Katherine Vigeant, his sister Shirley Arruda and her husband Robert. He was brother of the late Antonio P. Rapoza and Mildred Miccio.
His memorial visitation and prayers will take place on Wednesday January 10, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County Street, New Bedford. www.wilsonchapel.net.
