Elton F. Brewer, 94, of Fitzgerald, died Friday, January 5, 2018, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, in Gainesville, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held, 2PM, Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Jeff Parmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from, 5PM until 7PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Brewer was born June 28, 1923, in Fitzgerald, to the late Forest and Lora Walker Brewer. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Brewer worked in heavy construction. He loved to hunt, fish and enjoyed gardening. He had lived in Fitzgerald most of his life.
He is survived by a son: Lloyd Brewer & Tina of Dahlonega; four grandchildren: Jennifer Whisnant, Sean Brewer, Lacey Barnes and Brittany Jones and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Mae Brewer; siblings: C.F. Brewer, Jr., Sibyl Brewer Sutton, and Agnes Tracy.
