Maria D. (Carreiro) Mota, 81, died at Berkshire Place in Providence, RI on Wednesday, October 26. She was the wife of the late Eugenio Carreiro Mota. Born and educated in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, she came to Stoughton in 1978. She was a resident of Stoughton until 2000 when she moved to Bridgewater. She was a housewife at home with her family.
Mrs. Mota is survived by her children, Victor Carreiro of Bridgewater, Luisa Raposa of Cambridge, Idalina Falcao of Fall River, Rodrigo Mota of Azores, Portugal and Maria Furtado of Stoughton, as well as her siblings, Luisa Pontes and Joao Machado both Canada. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Eugenio Mota.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 3-7 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.
