William Patrick Redwine, age 56, of Coffeeville, MS died Saturday, January 6, 2018 at home with his family by his side. He was born October 18, 1961 to Eva Mae Woods Redwine and Lewis Redwine, Jr. in Yalobusha county and served twice in the National Guard in several countries including Nicaragua and the Honduras. While serving in Nicaragua he was awarded The Army Achievement Medal and Joint Task Force Esteli. Sgt. Redwine demonstrated a professionalism that brought pride to both his unit and the Mississippi Army National Guard. His duties during this training period truly demonstrated the reason for the title “Joint Task Force”. The Marines he was assigned to as an instructor declared him to be an Honorary “Devil Dog”. He specialized in humanitarian work with the military, receiving awards for inventing a variety of useful machinery and systems. He was a talented artist, songwriter, musician, carpenter, roofer and mechanic. He loved people, and enjoyed camping, fishing, and running trot lines. He felt like God had extended his life after he was diagnosed with some serious health issues, and he called himself the “ACDC Man” due to the unusual components of gizmos inside and outside of his body. Patrick was a committed Christian and he attended the Shiloh Cowboy Church and also the First Apostolic Church of Grenada.
A visitation is planned for Monday, January 8, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Seven Oaks Venue, Main Street, Coffeeville, MS. Family will receive friends again on Tuesday morning, January 9, 2018 at 10:00 AM at New Hope Baptist Church near Coffeeville with services starting at 11:00 AM. Pastor Adelbert Adcock will officiate the service, and burial will be in New Hope Church Cemetery with Joseph Glenn Nichols, III, Thomas Glenn Nichols, Daniel Robinson, Billy Johnsey, Donnie Johnsey, Eddie Anderson, Slade Redwine, and Derek Redwine serving as pallbearers.
Patrick is survived by his parents, Eva Mae Redwine and Lewis Redwine, Jr. of Coffeeville, MS; a god-daughter, Amanda Kent of Grenada, MS; a god-son, Michael Phillips of Oxford, MS; three sisters, Pam Redwine of Sidon, MS, Norma (Tim) Farmer of Coffeeville, MS, and his twin, Prisscilla (Brent) Stanford of Coffeeville, MS; a god-brother, Daniel Robinson of Coffeeville, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.
