Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Guy Hobby, 92, of Ashburn, GA, will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Ashburn 1st United Methodist Church, 406 N. Main Street, Ashburn, GA. Mrs. Hobby passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Tift Regional Hospital. Interment will be private.
Mrs. Hobby was the daughter of the late Charles Clarence Guy and Martha Emily Bowman Guy. She was the widow of Harris Dorminey Hobby, Sr. Mrs. Hobby was a homemaker and retired bookkeeper from Gold Kist Peanut Company. She was a member of Ashburn 1st United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hobby is survived by two sons, Harris (Sharon) Hobby, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; Steven Hobby of Tifton, GA and one grandson Matthew Tyler (Amber) Hobby of Tifton, GA and one great-granddaughter, Lauren Hobby of Tifton, GA.
Mrs. Hobby loved her family, her friends and her church. She was sweet, funny and tough. She was a beautiful, stylish, modern southern woman whose courage, class and grace made the world a better place.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 12:00 to 1:00 at Ashburn 1st United Methodist Church.
